Gary Carter is a trial lawyer who represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes jury and bench trials throughout Louisiana. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation in Louisiana state and federal courts.
Earlier in his career, Gary practiced products liability litigation at a major New Orleans law firm. He later served as in-house senior counsel for a Fortune 250 energy company, where he was a member of the company’s in-house trial team and advised on litigation and risk-related matters. He has also served as a partner at a national energy firm, handling trials and complex litigation in the energy sector.
Gary regularly tries cases to jury verdict and represents clients in technically demanding litigation. His experience inside large institutions informs his strategic approach to risk assessment, trial preparation, and dispute resolution.
In addition to his legal practice, Gary serves as a Member of the Louisiana State Senate, representing District 7, which includes the Westbank of Orleans and Jefferson Parishes and Plaquemines Parish. He previously served in the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 102.
Gary earned his bachelor’s degree from Xavier University of Louisiana and his Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School.
Jessica Chapman is an experienced attorney with a diverse and distinguished career spanning 20 years. A proud graduate of Louisiana State University, Jessica earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications in 2004, graduating cum laude. She then continued her studies at LSU’s Law School, where she graduated in 2007 in the top 25% of the class with a Juris Doctor degree and a bachelor’s in civil law.
Jessica's legal career has spanned multiple sectors, starting with five years as an Assistant Attorney General at the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, where she honed skills in general liability litigation, advocating for the state and its employees in a variety of complex matters. She then spent five years focusing on title insurance and curative litigation, representing national title insurance companies and lending institutions in complex litigation matters and gaining deep expertise in property law and dispute resolution.
Prior to joining the Carter Firm, Jessica served as in-house litigation counsel for a major health insurance payor for seven years, where she played a key role in resolving complex healthcare disputes. She advised on pre-litigation matters, helping to navigate reimbursement disagreements, contractual disputes, and regulatory challenges before they escalate. When disputes required formal action, Jessica represented commercial payors in litigation involving provider and member disputes, including coverage determinations, medical necessity challenges, and contractual conflicts, consistently delivering practical, strategic solutions that protected her client's interests.
In addition to her legal career, Jessica is committed to giving back to the community. She serves on the board of directors for the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Charity League, volunteers at St. George Catholic School and St. Joseph’s Academy, and is a member of the Karnival Krewe de Louisiane.
Sierra Ambrose is an attorney whose practice focuses on civil and commercial disputes, including healthcare payor-provider litigation, complex business matters, products liability, and real estate disputes. She represents corporate clients and healthcare organizations in Louisiana state and federal courts and in arbitral proceedings.
Sierra works closely with firm leadership in developing and executing litigation strategy in high-exposure matters. Her experience includes contract disputes, reimbursement conflicts, and technically demanding commercial litigation. She handles negotiations and mediations and has pertinent trial experience in products liability matters, personal injury claims and property disputes. She regularly assists with motion practice and hearings and preparing cases for jury and bench trials, as well as final arbitration hearings. Sierra has handled supervisory writs—leading up to trial and during trial—and appeals.
Prior to joining the firm, Sierra clerked for Judge Sidney H. Cates, IV, and interned for Judge Omar K. Marson at the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. This experience provides practical insight into trial court procedure and judicial decision-making.
Sierra earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she distinguished herself in trial advocacy, winning the Fall 2020 Trial Advocacy Competition and serving on the moot court. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola University.
She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Brooke N. Crochet focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation and real estate curative work. She represents clients in a range of disputes in Louisiana state and federal courts, including contract and property-related matters. Brooke works with firm leadership to develop case strategy, prepare litigation filings, and support trial preparation.
Before joining the firm in 2025, Brooke gained experience in complex civil litigation and property-related disputes, including title and curative matters that intersect with real estate risk and litigation strategy.
Brooke earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana.
She is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the Jefferson Parish Bar Association.
